Referee Point System

The following is a guideline for AYSO Region 479 Referee Point System.

This is a mandatory point system.

Each team is required to have two referees, one AR (sideline ref) and one center ref.

Each referee will earn one point per game.  Two points possible on each Saturday.

Each referee will check in with the Referee Administrator or scheduler 15 minutes prior to the start of their game for updates and game status.

18 referee points are mandatory for the season to qualify for in house playoffs. For area playoffs there is a mandatory 20 points needed.  

If your team falls behind or will fall behind a week in points, your team has four options to make up the missed points.

Option 1: Ref two games the week before missed game

Option 2: Ref two games after the week missed

Option 3: Sharing from Sibling or parents (only if other team is not behind on points)

Option 4: Your team can find a ref willing to fill in for your missing ref (floater Referee. No more than 3 weekends or a max of 6 points, which ever comes first.)

If games are cancelled due to bad weather or any other reason, points and standings will be adjusted by the Referee Scheduler as needed.
