What do I need to bring to
registration?

All new players need to submit online or bring their birth certificate for age verification. It is HIGHLY recommended that you register and pay online with a credit card by clicking the REGISTER NOW button in the top right corner of this website. All players will need to bring 1 copy of their E-Signed player registration forms and proof of payment.

How long does registration take?

Tehachapi AYSO has a very efficient registration system but, there may be a line when you arrive. The majority of the time spent registering is on the computer, which can be avoided by registering online at home or from your phone or tablet. We have had registration take less than 10 minutes for those prepared individuals!

How much does it cost to play soccer?

You will find soccer is one of the most affordable sports anywhere. The only equipment you absolutely need to purchase in order to play is shin guards. Registration fees are set annually to cover the cost of running the Region. AYSO will supply your players with a complete uniform (jersey, shorts and socks), a player and team picture package, injury insurance for player and volunteer, a positive experience, and several months of soccer playing instruction and fun!

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes we do! With AYSO's new registration system they are moving toward all payments being made online by credit card/ debit card/ or pre-paid credit card. If you do not have a credit card/ debit card you can pay by cash or check at one of our registration events TBA.

Do you offer financial assistance?

We do offer a limited number of Playership scholarships each season. Please email us or check the information on our Scholarship information page for more details.

What is required to play AYSO soccer?

All you need to play AYSO soccer is a pair of shin guards. Your coach will likely encourage you to buy an age appropriate soccer ball, and the players usually will want a pair of cleats, cleats are recommended but not required. If cleats are worn, they must not have a toe-cleat on them (the little cleat in the front that sticks out). Baseball and football cleats will not work.

What size ball do I need?

All of the AYSO divisions are broken up into logical names, like  6Ufor under 6 players, 8U for under 8 (which includes 6-7 year olds), 10U (8-9 year olds) etc. The type of ball you need depends on the division (the age) of your players. Use the following chart to find the right size for you!

Divisions Ball Size
6U, 8U Size 3
10U, 12U Size 4
14U+ Size 5
